Community Involvement
All Souls does not take formal positions on doctrinal or ethical positions outside of the Creed. We do, however, support our people as they, under the authority of scripture, in prayer and through community, discern the way of Christ in our world. Following Augustine, we believe in essentials, unity, in non-essentials, charity and in all things love. We celebrate all the diverse ways our members follow Christ in the world, even when we disagree with one another. Announcements in the update reflect the many ways our people are serving God in our community. They do not reflect All Souls' endorsement of a particular issue, doctrinal position, or cause.

Pronounced issues were uncovered, yet we believe the study serves as a wake-up call that will result in a lasting impact for generations to come.

 | David Johnson took this terrific photo of Travetta and her two twin granddaughters, Erin and Elise, and also posted this terrific C.S. Lewis quote:
To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one. It will not be broken, but it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. The only place outside of heaven where you can be perfectly safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love is hell." -- C.S. Lewis |

This event is open to clergy and interested laity of all religious groups in the Knoxville area. The training will be the first TFJA event held in Knoxville. About the Tennessee Faith and Justice AllianceTFJA is a project of the Tennessee Supreme Court's Access to Justice Commission. It is an alliance of faithbased groups in Tennessee who commit to providing legal resources to their congregations and communities. TFJA was created to align needs seen at the local house of worship level with possible legal resources that are nearby, perhaps even within the same congregation. The notion is to connect with people in need in a place they already go to seek help with a problem. That place is quite often their place of worship. Projects range from traditional free legal clinics, to community education projects, to networks of attorneys volunteering to meet the legal needs of local congregations. | | Thatch Walker, Addair and Ashley are home this week! |
