Kate Mclean and friends on the EYF Swim Team

The Emerald Youth Foundation summer swim team needs volunteers throughout their summer season to help with several things: Food after each swim practice on Thursday evenings, food before each swim meet, typically once a week, food for two city-wide swim meets in July the 12th and (25th-27th). The team members also need help with transportation both to and from swim practice at the Ed Cothren Pool off Western Avenue.

Their practices are every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM beginning Thursday, May 22nd. We hope to have their food ready for them after each Thursday practice at the picnic area above the pool.

Doug and Bryden Banister have been very involved with this group since the beginning and we have several others in our Church body who have helped keep this effort going.

Polly Ailor Tullock will coordinate volunteers. If each small group will take a Thursday evening meal that would be a tremendous help and since there are at least 18 small groups in the All Souls body, that would take care of all the Thursday meals until the two city-wide meets in late July.

Please email Polly at pollyatullock@gmail.com to volunteer.

Congrats Graduates! Joe Morelock, Kate Brimer, Sajen Banister (and more!! Let us know!!)

Welcome to the world, little Rynn and Jack Severance, children of Chip and Paige, siblings of Tate and Scout, we're so glad you're here!!

Check out Paul Hassell's beautiful new website through his company, Light Finds.

"How we take photos is frequently discussed. Why we take them is not.

For any real change in the world, the person behind the camera must be affected first. Photography is a wild adventure. It's a journey of personal transformation.

Listen to the collaborative voice of photographers who shoot because it awakens them to the experience of being ALIVE."

Doug Banister's article in the Knoxville News-Sentinel last week:

Hope for Our City: Pastor says Knoxville's gang violence is 'huge, huge problem'

Do you have an opportunity that a small fund will advance your efforts to seek the peace in the city?  Perhaps an All Souls grant, up to $500, could help.  Download Application here and submit to Marie Alcorn.

Hey Parents (and you, too Courtney!!), we have a framed photo of all the baptisms
and one with your family and Pastor D. Get in touch with Katie (katie@allsoulsknoxville.com) to pick up your frame (Neills, Otises, Walkers, Astis and Pettys, I still have yours!)

The All Souls medical fund is now accepting applications for this quarter until May 15.
The fund is available to help members and regular All Souls attendees with medical, behavioral, and dental needs.  We are finishing an update of some of the guidelines but contact one of the All Souls medical fund team members with questions.  Please submit the applications for this quarter to either John Beckett: john.beckett@knoxschools.org or Bob Alcorn: balcornarchitect@yahoo.com, or you may leave the application with Katie in the church office.

knoxvillecommunityCommunity Involvement

All Souls does not take formal positions on doctrinal or ethical positions outside of the Creed. We do, however, support our people as they, under the authority of scripture, in prayer and through community, discern the way of Christ in our world. Following Augustine, we believe in essentials, unity, in non-essentials, charity and in all things love.  We celebrate all the diverse ways our members  follow Christ in the world, even when we disagree with one another. Announcements in the update reflect the many ways our people are serving God in our community. They do not reflect All Souls' endorsement of a particular issue, doctrinal position, or cause.
