NEWS FROM THE SHEPHERDING TEAM
The Shepherding Team met on March 4 and gave final approval to the Restated Bylaws of All Souls Church. This is the governing document for our Church and the updated version is a project that has been a year in the making. The restated bylaws fully outlines the purposes of All Souls, the consensual orthodoxy doctrine, the discernment process to use when issues arise that might have an adverse impact on our purposes or doctrine, the roles of the Shepherding Team, and all other organizational aspects of the Church. The final version of the document is attached to this newsletter.

We also approved a proposal from Katie Norrell to move to a contracted role with All Souls to provide creative services, and communication support and consulting. As a result of that approval, the Shepherding Team tasked the Personnel Committee to go forward with developing and implementing a process to hire a Church Office Manager. We also approved a recommendation from the 10 to the City Committee to provide a 10 to the City grant to Volunteer Ministry Center to support activities consistent with the chronic homeless outreach work that Caroline Carter Smith had been providing previously. Other ministry reports are summarized in the attached minutes.

Lenten Discussion Group. "No one is born a prostitute. There was a long, hard road to get there." Lent is traditionally an opportunity to pay special attention to the needs of the vulnerable. We will gather in the chapel (3rd floor of 4 Market Square) for four Sundays after church, beginning March 16, to explore, discuss and pray about the realities of sex trafficking and prostitution in our city. We will read excerpts from Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, as well as additional texts and articles.
