All Souls News & Events
Not much new info this week...there are some artist events you might like and some photos from the Baptisms this weekend, which I think were restorative for those both in and out of the pool. xoxo Don't Forget! Soul Support is a new group being co-led by Judy Pate and Roxie Moore. It will provide social-emotional and spiritual support for those experiencing struggles and stresses in their lives. The group will be confidential but open to members at all times. Soul Support will begin Thursday, September 12 from 6:00 to 7:30 and continue each Thursday through October 17 in the Prayer Chapel on the 3rd floor of 4 Market Square. Everyone is welcome! For more information, contact Judy Pate at judyknoxville@gmail.com or Roxie Moore at rojomo48@gmail.com. Or you may call Judy at 386-3015 and Roxie at 380-1935. Kathy Foster has entered a Conde Nast photo contest and has made it several rounds as a finalist! What an accomplishment! Kathy is a beautiful photographer who has shot stunning photographs for people all over the city. This photo is of two kids jumping in the sunset. She is hoping to take her husband and two boys on a trip while they are still young and will be able to if she wins this contest. If you like her picture, she would love it if you would click this link (wait for the second page to load) and vote for her photo by clicking on the star below the photo (it will turn yellow when you've voted successfully.) Thank you so much.

Connie Mroz's talk on Camp Tennessee:WWII German POW Camps in Tennessee, Nov 17th at Pellissippi
When most Americans hear the words "WWII POW camp", they think of the horrendous concentration camps of Nazi Germany or they may think of Japanese internment camps along the west coast of the United States. Many Americans are unaware that from 1942-1946, nearly 500,000 German and Italian POWs were kept in POW camps throughout the United States.
This talk centers on the five POW camps in Tennessee: Camp Crossville in Crossville, Camp Forrest in Tullahoma, Camp Campbell in Clarksville, Camp Tyson in Paris and the Memphis Armed Services Supply Depot in Memphis. There were also smaller branch camps in Tellico Plains, Lawrenceburg and Nashville.

SHAREhouse, Artist & New City Events
Ashley Addair's work will appear in Ossuary at the UT Downtown Gallery on First Friday in October. EXHIBITION DATES October 4 - October 26, 2013 RECEPTION
Friday, October 4, 2013 5-9pm Three hundred artists have contributed to this Ossuary. Their work, in many media, includes single bones, clusters of bones, and art works inspired by, using, or playing with the idea of bones. These bones are political statements and personal elegies, memorials to individuals and statements about mortality. They represent connections to our ancestors and/or to our descendants. Some works are serious and some use bones in a completely playful manner.
Ossuary was developed in response to the repositories of bones that have accured in countries like Cambodia and Rwanda, but Ossuary is not a project about those traumas. Rather, Ossuary offers a poignant counter-image to mass violence. it is a project about the hope that art brings.
Images and statements for all the bone works from this iteration can be found online atwww.ossuaries.net.
The UT Downtown Gallery is located at 106 S. Gay Street in downtown Knoxville and open from 11am to 6pm, Wednesdays through Friday and 10am to 3pm on Saturdays.
