All Souls needs someone to take charge of the Angel Tree this year. We usually do it every year, and it's a great way to love children who may not get Christmas presents because of an incarcerated parent. It's back!  After a brief summer hiatus, Singer/Songwriter night picks up again in the fall with a new attitude!  This 12-week series will include some of the area's best writing talent, as well as a few Showcase performances by national artists.

Beginning September 5th, we will run for 12 weeks, with ticketed Showcase Concerts on September 19th, October 24th, and November 21st.  All other dates will be open performance nights.  To sign up in advance, e-mail kenny@newcityresources.org.  We will have area writers to offer critiques and guidance to help you hone your craft and understand and discuss the writing process.  There will also be a $50 prize for best performance of the night, a $100 prize for best performance of the month, and a $250 price for best performance of the season (as well as studio time with a professional producer, and the opportunity to open for a show at The Square Room!).  Singer/Songwriter night is open to all ages, and sound and lighting are provided.  Just bring your instrument of choice (we do have a Yamaha grand piano available for use on stage) and a willingness to share your gift with others.
