10 Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What am I voting for? What you believe to be the three best uses of 10% of the All Souls budget to seek the peace of the City(our "tithe" to the City).
  2. When do I vote? After Church on Sunday, November 18.
  3. How do I vote? You will be given three stick-on stars to place beside the three options of your choice.
  4. Can I see the options in advance? The 10 to the City options are posted on the All Souls website, with website links to the organizations listed.
  5. Do I vote for the broad category (example -Housing or Youth), or the specific options listed under the thematic categories? You should use your votes for specific options; the options were placed in thematic categories to make them easier to find and understand.
  6. Are there any restrictions on how I use my three votes? Use your three votes for options any way you wish - for example, for three options under one category or for one option each under three different categories.
  7. Where did the options come from? The ideas came from brainstorming by the Congregation during Church on Sunday, September 16th; similar ideas were combined, researched and edited into options by the 10 to the City Committee, and presented and finalized by the Congregation after Church on Sunday, October 21th.
  8. Why do the options range from one time grants to ongoing partnerships? The options reflect the range of ideas proposed by the Congregation, and depending on what we vote on will require different levels of relationship, commitment, and organization by our Church body.
  9. What happens after we vote? The results will be analyzed by the 10 to the City Committee and a final recommendation will be made to the Shepherding Team. This vote is a huge step in the process, but the final decision on all budget issues is the responsibility of the All Souls Shepherding Team.
  10. Who is on the 10 to the City Committee? Marie Alcorn, Dean Foster, Kathy Foster, Caleb Fristoe, Angela Gonda, Sandy Greek, Nate Kelly, Taryn McLean, Daniel Odle, Drew Petty, Laurens Tullock, and Levon Walker.
