World Vets Responds to Disaster in the Philippines
World Vets Disaster Response Team, Dr. Springer Browne and Dr. Helle Hydeskov, walk through Guiuan, Eastern Samar, providing veterinary care and performing an assessment of veterinary needs
World Vets is currently responding to Typhoon Haiyan with veterinary supplies, financial support and on the ground veterinary assistance.
For the last few weeks our disaster response team has been to some of the hardest hit areas providing much needed supplies and contributing to relief efforts.
More specifically, our team has been caring out assessments to help determine the animal and in turn veterinary needs for specific areas. They have also been feeding strays and abandoned animals, in addition to visiting farms affected by the storm and tending to livestock that sustained injuries and trauma.

During the month of November, World Vets had three veterinary teams deployed in Latin American and the Caribbean. Our teams provided free veterinary services in Honduras, the Dominican Republic and Ecuador. With these teams combined, we provided care to almost 1000 animals and performed 575 surgical procedures in just a few days.
We'd like to thank all of our volunteers, local partners and Fondation Brigitte Bardot for helping make these campaigns a success!

The American Midwest recently experienced devastating weather in the form of a tornado. Following the storm, Jon Byler Dann's dog Maggie was missing after their home was demolished. According to weatherchannel.com, his family survived but their beloved dog Maggie could not be found. Nearly 30 hours later, Maggie was found buried in the rubble - alive, but injured.
World Vets recently spoke to the clinic where Maggie is bring treated and is expected to recover. We have pledged financial support to the veterinary clinic that is helping pets like Maggie as well as those belonging to owners who are in a hardship situation due to the tornado.
World Vets mission is to improve the health and well being of animals by providing veterinary aid and training in developing countries as well as by providing disaster relief worldwide. The month of November has been a particularly difficult time for people and their pets living in the Philippines as well as the American Midwest. World Vets response and in turn ability to help animals affected by disaster situations depends on your generous support. Please consider a donation to our Disaster Relief Fund to directly benefit animals impacted by disasters worldwide.
We thank Fondation Brigitte Bardot for their support of our disaster preparedness and relief efforts
