Successful Operative in the Dominican Republic!
World Vets has just had a veterinary team return from Sosua, Dominican Republic. There they provided a free large scale sterilization campaign. We'd like to thank Fondation Brigitte Bardot, the entire crew of Asociacion de Amigos por los Animales Sosua (AAAS) as well as World Vets volunteers for making this a successful operative. Unlike many field condition clinics, we had the luxury of gas anesthesia! This allowed for 189 safe spay/neuters to be provided as well as an additional 14 surgeries to be performed. Overall, 226 animals were seen and treated by our team. See pictures from the campaign here

Almost Snowed Out!
Last month the northern east coast of the United States experienced crazy winter weather with record snow fall. There was so much snow that it caused flights to be cancelled. Meanwhile, many of our volunteers stood to miss our project scheduled for the Caribbean island of St. Eustatius!
Luckily, many volunteers quickly made alternate travel plans which enabled them to still participate. Despite winter storms, we were still able to provide much needed free veterinary services for the small animals on the island.
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of our dedicated volunteers that contribute and continue to contribute their skills and services on our field service projects. Without you, we would not be able to help as many animals as we do!
