Dear Friend,
Fruit is abounding across our ministry as we continue on the course God has given us. As I sat to write this letter and recounted what has happened since the first of the year, I realized I may not have room to share it all! I will at least try to give a few highlights.
We are very blessed to have four of our children serving with us this year; Jason and his wife Shanaya, Jeremy and Jasmin. Our family is helping us launch some new departments and tweaking everything else (including Mom & Dad!) In a nutshell, we have an Extreme Makeover in the works....should produce a lot of positive results.
Training God's Army at Thai Military Headquarters... Three seminars have been conducted this year impacting the lives of leaders across several provinces. The seminar hosted in Umphang District was the first ever Christian meeting conducted in this district. The Thai Army graciously allowed us to use the Border Police facility to host 100+ delegates to this event. Government and military personnel were in attendance along with church leaders and members. Pastor Paul Young and Pastor Mark Cummins brought the Word for this event.
This County Seat Has Never Had a Christian Church... That is, until last year when Noparaht and Batee graduated our school and went to this region to plant a church. In one year they have grown to 70 in attendance for church at their house on Sundays. It is time to build a building for this hungry bunch. We located a half acre piece of land on a main road with electric and water service available. We can buy this land for $6,000 which is a highly discounted price being offered to us by a policeman and his wife who have been impacted through the Gospel. Believe with us for this money to come in; you can click the link below to take part in this pioneer project in a previously unreached district.
One of Our Grand Kids Got Married... Spiritual grand kid that is! It was our honor to conduct the wedding ceremony for Siriraht and Prutipong. Siriraht is the daughter of Wirichai and Pimonpawn, one of our most successful graduate couples. Siriraht graduated from our children's program with a degree in nursing. She works at a new hospital where she met her husband who is a dentist. We wish them well!
108 Churches Built In Thailand... Two more churches have been built bringing our total to 108. The Mae Pae Luang Church is solid teak wood and one of the most impressive we have built yet. We are looking to pick up the speed of our church planting program with a goal of planting and constructing 12 churches per year. That will be a church a month going up for God's Glory!
Ban Den Update... We are moving forward but we do need some help. Some of the money committed for this project has not come through yet. We are roughly $45,000 short to finish this project. The kids have been in awe as they watch their new home being built before their eyes. Most of them grew up in a bamboo shack with a grass roof, so you can imagine what it must be like to live in a home with walls and a roof. Thank you for helping us get this project wrapped up by May.
It is good to be home. We are looking forward to a tremendous year of ministry. Thank you for your part in helping us reach this nation.
God Bless You Richly,
Charlie and Cathy
PS: Life Christian Center sent a team headed up by Dion & Kristi Dodge. What a blessing they were to us, our staff and every child in our program! Wow...LCC Team rocks!
