Greetings!
Greetings in the joy of Jesus! We pray that God will use this little note to inspire your hearts in some way and draw you closer to Him.
Loi Krathong Festival Every November in Thailand and surrounding nations Buddhist people celebrate a holiday. We thought you might be intrigued by the meaning behind it. It is so similar to the ceremony of the lamb of sacrifice and the scapegoat in the Old Testament. The Thai people put their hands on a banana leaf "boat" they made or bought and send it out into the water. Their hope is that their sins will transfer from them onto the boat as they send them downstream or out to sea. Amazing how similar! Pray that they may come to understand that God did exactly that when He put our sins upon Jesus, once and for all, as He suffered the punishment in our place.
Chiang Mai State Men's Prison
A few weeks back we had another excellent opportunity to bring the Gospel to unbelievers and encouragement to believers inside. About 40 inmates came to our classroom to hear God's Word and to get some booklets. May the Lord multiply the seed sown to spread to the 4,000 men within the walls and keep the doors open to for us to continue. Grace International School Mountain Weekend Our son, Paul, and 21 of his Sports Leadership classmates just returned from a memorable weekend in a Karen village 4 hours from here. They led 200 kids in a Day Camp with music, skits, teaching English, crafts, sport games, fun and a testimony of God's mercy. He said, "Being up there felt very good. God wanted us to be a blessing to that community."
Youth With A Mission DTS Next month I'll have the joyous privilege to teach on Evangelism at the YWAM Disciple Training School in Mae Dang, about an hour north from here. Young hearts from all over the world will be there including Thai students as we do the training in English and Thai. Ask the Lord of the harvest to use us, to inspire them to take Jesus' salvation to every corner of the earth! Fired Up To Go Fishing: Living Word Bible School During our students 2-years of study at the Bible School, we schedule a number of outreaches for them to go out in teams to share Jesus with a number of villages. I was very encouraged that last week, ten students - on their own - came to me with a well-thought-out plan for a 3 week outreach for over Christmas Break. Praise God that His Word is taking root in their hearts and inspiring them to take the Gospel to the lost!
We sincerely praise God for each of you as you hold us up in prayer. May He bless you in your great service to us. |
