The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts, designed to revitalize the role of literature in American culture and to encourage citizens to read for pleasure and enlightenment. Disney Friends for Change Grants - U.S.
Disney Friends for Change grants offer young change-makers an opportunity to receive a $1,000 grant for youth-led service projects that demonstrate youth leadership, creativity, and a commitment to making a positive impact in the community. Youth ages 5-18 located in all 50 states and the District of Columbia are eligible to apply for a $1,000 grant.

Air Force Association - Air Force Junior ROTC Grants
The Air Force Association (AFA) is a non-profit, independent, professional military and aerospace education association promoting public understanding of aerospace power and the pivotal role it plays in the security of the nation. It sponsors professional development seminars and recognizes excellence in the education and aerospace fields through national awards programs. In addition to presenting scholarships and grants to Air Force active duty, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve members and their dependents, AFA also awards educator grants to promote science and math education at the elementary and secondary school level. The Air Force Junior ROTC Grant was established to promote aerospace education throughout classrooms and units. Funds may be used for any aerospace education related activity from purchasing textbooks or videotapes, to going on a field trip to an aerospace museum, Air Force base, or other aerospace facility.

Katie's Krops Grants
The mission of Katie's Krops is to start and maintain vegetable gardens of all sizes and donate the harvest to help feed people in need, as well as to assist and inspire others to do the same. The grant winners will receive materials to start a vegetable garden to feed people in need in their community. The winner will be awarded a gift card to a garden center in their area for $400, support from Katie's Krops, and a digital camera to document the garden and the harvest. Applications for all types of vegetable gardens, such as a container garden if you live in a city, or a vegetable garden in your neighborhood or at your school, will be considered.

Educational Success & Healthy Lifestyles 2013 Grantmaking Program
The Center for Arab American Philanthropy's Teen Grantmaking Initiative (a project of ACCESS) is offering funds to youth serving organizations as part of their Educational Success & Healthy Lifestyles 2013 Grantmaking Program. The Teen Grantmaking Initiative will award grants in the amount of $1,000 - $2,000 to youth serving organizations addressing either educational success or improved health outcomes for youth in the Metro Detroit region.

Jamba Juice "It's All About the Fruit & Veggies Grant Program
Since 2010, Jamba Juice has provided more than 100 school and community gardens with grants to start and support health and nutrition education. The "All About the Fruits and Veggies" grant program provides youth garden initiatives with $500 in gardening supplies, curriculum, soil amendments and plants to help create engaging nutrition and gardening experiences. Recipients will be selected based on plans to promote nutrition education, ideas for incorporating fruit and vegetable activities into the curriculum, and ability to sustain the program over multiple years. It's All About the Fruit and Veggies Grant program is open to schools, community organizations, and non-profit programs in the United States gardening with at least 15 children between the ages of 3 and 18.

Taco Bell Foundation for Teens
The Taco Bell Foundation for Teens supports nonprofit organizations that provide teens with career, community, and education experiences that inspire them to stay in school and graduate. The Foundation provides grants through the following categories: Graduate to Go College Experience, Graduate to Go Career Experience, and Graduate to Go General Experience. College Experience grants focus on programs that allow teens to explore opportunities at local universities, community colleges, and/or technical schools, and also learn about the college application process. Career Experience Grants promote programs that offer teens the opportunity to find out about various career options through job shadow days, professional mentorship programs, etc. General Experience Grants support unique teen programs/experiences that fall outside of the other category criteria.

The Walmart Foundation seeks to supported underserved populations across the country who need help through their three grant programs: Local Giving, State Giving, and National Giving. Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge
The Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge at the elementary school level is designed to help students work together to solve an environmental problem in their classroom or school community. The Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge offers students the opportunity to use science, math, and reading/language arts concepts and skills to create sustainable, reproducible environmental improvements. This scholarship is open to all elementary school classes in grades K-5 with a class advisor/mentor, who must be a full-time or part-time school employee.

ING Unsung Heroes
Are you an educator with a class project that is short on funding but long on potential? Do you know a teacher looking for grant dollars? ING Unsung HeroesŪ could help you turn great ideas into reality for students. For more than 15 years, and with nearly $3.8 million in awarded grants, ING Unsung Heroes has proven to be an A+ program with educators. The program's "alumni" have inspired success in the classroom and impacted countless numbers of students. Each year, 100 educators are selected to receive $2,000 to help fund their innovative class projects. Three of those are chosen to receive the top awards of an additional $5,000, $10,000 and $25,000. All K-12 education professionals, whether or not they are clients of ING, are eligible.

J-Serve International Day of Jewish Youth Service Grants
J-Serve is the International Day of Jewish Youth Service and has been part of Youth Service America's Global Youth Service Day since 2005. In 2013, J-Serve will be held on April 28. A limited number of J-Serve micro-grants of up to $500 will be awarded to community projects committed to creating service opportunities that bring Jewish teens together to participate in a J-Serve project. Projects that are creative and innovative, especially those that will be first-time events in a community, as well as projects conceived and planned by teen project leaders will receive preferential reviews.

The Dollar General School Library Relief Fund
Dollar General, in collaboration with the American Library Association (ALA), the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), and the National Education Association (NEA), is sponsoring a school library disaster relief fund for public school libraries in the states served by Dollar General. The fund will provide grants to public schools whose school library program has been affected by a disaster and can be used to replace or supplement books, media and/or library equipment in the school library setting. Grants will be awarded to public school libraries that have incurred substantial damage or hardship due to a natural disaster (tornado, earthquake, hurricane, flood, avalanche, and mudslide), fire or an act recognized by the federal government as terrorism. The impact can be through direct loss or through an increase in enrollment due to displaced/evacuee students.

Waystohelp.org Grants
Waystohelp.org exists to engage, inspire and enable high school students to make a positive difference in the world. The organization does this by making it easy for them to learn about, and take action against, 16 of today's most pressing social issues.
