Greetings!
Tonight, you are invited to join members of the CJ community for the Sister Dorothy Stang Symposium on global issues and social justice. This free event is open to the public and begins at 6:30 p.m. in the library. The focus of this year's symposium surrounds the piloting of the cross-curricular Senior Capstone Project.
Explore social justice topics including bullying, unplanned pregnancy, music access for the elderly, and more in any of seven small breakout sessions led by members of the senior class. This symposium is the culmination of an entire year's worth of research by our students, who've worked together in the spirit of Sr. Stang, SNDdeN '49 to identify, study and address the global issues they care most about. Read project descriptions >
Following presentations, there will be a reception for guests beginning around 8 p.m. Your support of our students' efforts is appreciated. We hope to see you there.
Sincerely,
Molly Bardine, Kelli D. Kinnear and Sr. Nicole Trahan, FMI

Complete Graduation Surveys in Family Connection
All seniors need to complete an online graduation survey as soon as possible. To access this survey, log in to Family Connection, then navigate to the "About Me" tab and click the graduation survey link on the left side of the page. The important information collected in this survey regarding college application results, scholarships awarded, college of choice, etc. is used by the guidance office to send final transcripts (no students will be required to pay a final transcript fee). Additionally, the guidance office requests that students bring in copies of financial aid documents or letters that include amounts of scholarship/grant money, regardless if your child plans to attend the awarding school. This information is also used to prepare materials for the Honors Awards assembly and graduation ceremony. If you have questions or concerns, please email or contact Kelly Muhl, administrative assistant, at 461-3740 x243.

Featured Faculty and Staff Member
Deacon Jim Walworth
Deacon Jim entered his role as development director at Chaminade Julienne just less than five years ago. Shortly thereafter, he was ordained by Archbishop Dennis Schnurr as a permanent deacon. Jim combines more than 30 years of business experience with a faith-filled philosophy in his efforts to support the mission of CJ.
Jim and his wife Kathleen have four children, and three grandchildren, spread out across the world. James, Jr. (Wabash College, Cornell Law) is an attorney with Kodak in Rochester, N.Y. Dan (UD, Cornell Law) is a partner with a private law firm in Philadelphia. Mary (Marquette, University of Hawaii) is a historical linguistics doctoral student currently doing field work on a remote island in the Pacific, and Anne-Marie (Saint Louis University) is a public relations manager with Rosetta Stone near the D.C. area.
The Walworths will celebrate their 39th wedding anniversary this year. While not originally from Dayton, the Holy Angels parishioners have lived in the area for almost 30 years and call it their hometown. On weekends when Jim is not "on duty" as Deacon, the couple enjoys getting away and spending time at their cabin in the woods of southeastern Highland County.
"It has been an exciting five years to have been here at CJ," Jim said, "and I am blessed to have been a part of it."
Learn how you too can help support the mission of CJ >
