CJ Parent Weekly

Department News   |   Calendar   |   Reminders   |   Youth Programs   |   Community Bulletin

Greetings!

This Monday marks the start of an exciting time for the CJ community as we welcome students and faculty back into the halls for the final week and a half of the first semester. Along with the rejuvenation and promise of a new year, we have plenty more to look forward to in 2013 including the addition of our newest campus amenity, the CJ STEMM Center.

Pre-construction work for this renovation to the main building has already begun, creating the need for a few adjustments. Teachers will address any changes that were implemented to a student's individual class schedule in all first period classes on our first day back in session Jan. 7. Students who have been reassigned a new locker location will have time to finish the move during our first week back.

Parents can expect to receive more news in future issues of the CJ Parent Weekly newsletter. For in-person updates about the project's impact on daily school operations, I invite each of you to join me at our monthly Eagle Parent meetings (generally held the first Monday of each month). I will share more details at the next Co-Educators meeting this Monday at 7 p.m. in the library.

God bless,

John Marshall, Principal  |  email

End of First Semester

Wednesday, January 16

This year CJ is awarding credit at the end of each semester instead of the end of the year, meaning:

  • A student's grade in each class at the end of the first semester will be added to his/her permanent transcript. Credit will be awarded for each class he/she is passing. The same applies for grades at the end of the second semester (June 7).
  • A student's grade in every class will start over at the beginning of a new semester.
  • If a student has a grade that is an F at the end of either of the semesters, he/she will need to attend summer school for that portion of the class.

With questions about these items, students should please consult with their guidance counselor.
