CJ Parent Weekly

Department News   |   Calendar   |   Reminders   |   Youth Programs   |   Community Bulletin

Greetings!

As we depart for Christmas break and prepare our hearts to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, we ask God to grant us His blessings this holiday season and in the New Year.

May the spirit of Christmas bring peace,

The gladness of Christmas give hope,

The warmth of Christmas grant love,

And may the blessings of Christmas be with us

today and always.

For these and all intentions, we pray in Jesus' name.

Amen.

Due to Christmas break, we will not be sending a Parent Weekly newsletter next Thursday. Look for the next issue to be delivered January 3, or check back at cjeagles.org during our time away for the latest news, updates and information.

Merry Christmas and warm regards,

From the Chaminade Julienne Community

End of First Semester

Wednesday, January 16

This year CJ is awarding credit at the end of each semester instead of the end of the year, meaning:

  • A student's grade in each class at the end of the first semester will be added to his/her permanent transcript. Credit will be awarded for each class he/she is passing. The same applies for grades at the end of the second semester (June 7).
  • A student's grade in every class will start over at the beginning of a new semester.
  • If a student has a grade that is an F at the end of either of the semesters, he/she will need to attend summer school for that portion of the class.

With questions about these items, students should please consult with their guidance counselor.

Featured Faculty & Staff Member

Stacey Dues '97

Stacy Dues '97 Stacy Dues, a 1997 graduate of Chaminade Julienne, is in her 12th year teaching Spanish at her alma mater. Prior to high school, she attended Precious Blood. Stacy's love of Spanish developed while a student at CJ, and led her to her profession today.

Stacy comes from a long line of family members who have graduated from Notre Dame Academy, Julienne, St. Joseph's Commercial High School, Chaminade, and CJ. Her grandmother graduated from Notre Academy in 1929. Her family's deep connection to Chaminade Julienne is what persuaded Stacy to become an Eagle herself.

Stacy earned a bachelor's degree from Miami University in 2001 and a master's degree from the University of Dayton in 2007. She has been teaching Spanish to the 7th and 8th graders of St. Christopher Elementary School in Vandalia for the past four years. Currently, she is in her 2nd year as a member of CJ's Local Professional Development Committee.

Stacy's pride and joy is her 4-year-old son, Joey, who is a future Chaminade Julienne Eagle!
