Grading and Credit Information

Beginning this year CJ is awarding credit at the end of each semester instead of the end of the year. Below is what this means for your son or daughter.
  • A student's grade in each class at the end of the first semester (Jan.16) will be added to his/her permanent transcript. Credit will be awarded for each class he/she is passing. The same applies for grades at the end of the second semester (June 7).
  • A student's grade in every class will start over at the beginning of a new semester.
  • If a student has a grade that is an F at the end of either of the semesters, he/she will need to attend summer school for that portion of the class.

Those fall athletes intending to take advantage of the Physical Education Waiver should have turned in forms by now. Any student who has not done so risks losing the ability to have this season count towards the waiver. With questions about these items, students should please consult with their guidance counselor.

Molly Bardine

Molly Bardine Molly is in her 23rd year of teaching and her 18th at CJ. She currently teaches AP English Literature, Writing and Research, World Literature and English 9, and serves as the department chair. She initiated and annually organizes the Stang Symposium at CJ, which honors Sister Dorothy Stang's legacy. This year Molly is working on the newly-created Senior Capstone Project.

Molly began her career at CJ as a student-teacher in 1990 and was hired for the next school year. Teaching at CJ has made many in her family quite proud since her grandfather, father, uncles and cousins attended Chaminade, and her mother and many aunts attended Julienne.

In 1995, Molly and her husband, Bryan, moved to Akron, Ohio so he could pursue his doctorate. They returned to Dayton in 2001 and both found teaching jobs at CJ and at the University of Dayton. Molly finished her Masters in Educational Leadership at UD in 2004.

The Marianists and Sisters of Notre Dame greatly inspire and inform Molly's teaching. Family spirit, commitment to social justice and cultivating a global perspective are just some of the tenets she finds most inspiring.

Molly enjoys all sports, particularly those her daughters are playing in any given season. She and her husband coach soccer for their daughter's team in the fall, and can be found on the weekends cheering on Katie and Allie in their respective sports for Holy Angels.

Visit Molly's page at cjeagles.org to learn more.
