topNovember 21, 2012  -  Wishing You a Happy Thanksgiving

CJ Parent Weekly

Department News   |   Calendar   |   Reminders   |   Youth Programs   |   Community Bulletin

Greetings!

To all members of the CJ community;

As we gather with family and friends to share in the abundant blessings of our Lord, let us remember to take time out to give thanks and praise for the graces we have received.  May the spirit of gratitude and joy permeate our thoughts and actions in all that we do. To this end, we offer you and your family a prayer of reflection:

God, Creator, we celebrate Your overflowing love, and we give thanks to You for all that we have and all that we are. We know abundance because of You. May we offer thanks to You by sharing what You have blessed us with, our talents, our graces, our spiritual as well as material goods. May we live in Your light and in Your love during this season, and during all the seasons of life. Amen.

Migration from Outlook to Gmail During Break

As part of CJ's transition to Google Apps for Education, we will begin converting "@cjeagles.org" email accounts to the Gmail system during the Thanksgiving break. Users' actual email addresses will not change; however, instead of accessing CJ email through Microsoft Office Outlook's Web Access client, email will be accessed by logging in at google.com. Due to the switch, access to email will be limited or non-existent Friday through Sunday, Nov. 23-25.

If you have questions or concerns about CJ's transition to Google, please email or contact Steve Fuchs, director of the academic office, at (937) 461-3740 x205.

Grading and Credit Information
Beginning this year CJ is awarding credit at the end of each semester instead of the end of the year. Below is what this means for your son or daughter.
  • A student's grade in each class at the end of the first semester (Jan.16) will be added to his/her permanent transcript. Credit will be awarded for each class he/she is passing. The same applies for grades at the end of the second semester (June 7).
  • A student's grade in every class will start over at the beginning of a new semester.
  • If a student has a grade that is an F at the end of either of the semesters, he/she will need to attend summer school for that portion of the class.

Those fall athletes intending to take advantage of the Physical Education Waiver should have turned in forms by now. Any student who has not done so risks losing the ability to have this season count towards the waiver.

With questions about these items, students should please consult with their guidance counselor.
