Eagle Parent Meetings and Announcements
The Parents of Performing Arts Students meet tonight, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. in room 126. Join as they discuss Monday's fall concert, upcoming volunteer opportunities and recap last month's wine tasting event.
The Blue Green Club extends a huge "thanks" to all team representatives, parents and coaches who helped with concessions at fall football home games this year. The club would not be able to continue to support CJ extracurricular activities without your help! Mark your calendars; the next meeting is this Monday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m. (and will be over in time for parents to attend the concert at 7 p.m.).
The Co-Educators have canceled its 7 p.m. meeting for this Monday, Nov. 5, due to the concert. The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 3.

Spain Trip Meeting this Monday, Nov. 5
There will be a meeting for parents and participants of the 2013 Spain trip this Monday, Nov. 5, at 6:30 p.m. in the library. Dodgeball Tournament November 12
Students taking economics with Angela Ruffolo are sponsoring a school-wide Dodgeball Tournament on Monday, Nov. 12, starting at 3:30 p.m. in the gym. Teams consisting of exactly five players and made up of either CJ students, faculty and/or staff may participate for $3 per person. Students can sign up in the cafeteria during lunch periods Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 5-6, or in room 149 before school. Spectators will be charged $1, and all proceeds will benefit SISCA. Tuition Assistance Help Session - TODAY
Thursday, November 1 | 3:30 p.m. | Room 144 This is the second help session focused on completing the 2013-14 Private School Aid Service (PSAS) application form. To be considered for tuition assistance next school year, PSAS applications, including all supporting documentation must be postmarked by December 1. Fall Phonathon - FINAL NIGHT
Thursday, Nov. 1 | 5:30 to 9 p.m. | Library
The Phonathon is a three-week calling effort by students, alumni, parents, and faculty to ask alumni, parents, and friends of CJ to support the Annual Fund. Volunteers are served dinner and receive training. A large percentage of Annual Fund contributions are a result of the work of our community members who volunteer to make phone calls during this event.
Two Hour Delay - 10 a.m. start
Monday, November 5
The daily school schedule for Monday, Nov. 5, has been adjusted. CJ will now be on a two hour delay, and follow the delay schedule listed on page 9 of the Student Handbook, in order to accommodate for a morning faculty and staff in-service meeting.
Students should arrive at 10 a.m. for Period 1 classes; however, there will be a monitored study hall in the cafeteria opening at 8 a.m. for any student who needs to arrive before school starts that morning.

Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week

This annual event held the first full week prior to Thanksgiving is dedicated to bringing awareness to CJ about hunger and homelessness issues in the local community, nation and world. Google Apps for Education As part of CJ's transition to Google Apps for Educaiton, we will begin converting "@cjeagles.org" email accounts to the Gmail system during the Thanksgiving break. Users' actual email addresses will not change; however, instead of accessing CJ email through Microsoft Office Outlook's Web Access client, email will be accessed by logging in at google.com. Due to the switch, access to email will be limited or non-existent during the holiday weekend November 23-25. Submit College Applications Early
The guidance office has processed college applications for about 25 percent of the senior class. It is very important for anyone who has not yet applied to complete and submit applications between now and December 1. The earlier college applications are processed, the better chance a student has of obtaining college scholarships and awards, regardless of the school's posted deadline. UD School of Engineering Career Awareness Day
Career Awareness Day, held Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., features an introduction to the exciting and rewarding field of engineering. Participants will have the opportunity to attend presentations by practicing engineers from leading area businesses, tour selected engineering labs and interact with engineering students. This event is free, but attendees must register online in advance and spots are only available while they last. CJ students may use an Enrichment Experience day to attend (reference page 24 of the Student Handbook).
