Yes. We are very busy, but we always find time to read! The Boys in the Boat is a mind-blowing story of an eight-oar crew team made up of boys from Washington State, sons of loggers, fishermen and farmers who banded together to defeat crews from elite Eastern colleges and eventually win the gold medal at the 1936 Olympics. Talk about an extreme sport! These boys pushed past every physical, emotional and social limit they encountered to move as one body beyond pain, beyond ego, seemingly beyond possibility. The clear interwoven explication of the dust bowl Depression and Nazi Germany illuminates why and how this story came to be. A must.
