Responsibilities:

• Oversee the creative process for all design elements created within the production process.
• Create fresh design looks.
• Ability to demonstrate the show's style in a uniform way, so that it can be reproduced at both the studio and overseas.
• Handing out assignments to design teams.
• Understanding nuance of the show and ensuring that designs fit accordingly.
• Ensuring that designs are not overly complicated.
• Understanding the limits of animation and what will animate well.
• Understanding of the use of stock characters.
• Understanding storyboard and ensuring that designs work for the story.
• Communicating and tracking progress of designers, ensuring that questions are addressed as needed.
• Focusing on completion of character and background designs, layouts, paint and color for overseas production.
• Working with show runner on all approval aspects of completed design elements.
• Generating background reference lists of each episode for overseas studio.
• Answering questions from overseas studio.
• Working with departments outside of production, as needed, in creation of elements for promotion, merchandising, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must demonstrate proficiency in style of show
• Strong sense of design and conceptual skills
• Knowledge of applicable design software and hardware.
• Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills.   
• Strong time-management skills
• Work well under pressure
• Ability to multitask

Education/Experience:

• Relevant drawing experience necessary
• BA in Fine Arts or equivalent work experience highly desired
• Supervisory experience preferred
