Summary:

 

Review scripts and storyboards for all episodes to ensure alignment with the production model. Determine standard for continuity of filmmaking and staging for each episode. Provide animation notes to partner studio. Determine key poses and instruct partner studio on layout by providing video notes to support the on-time completion of each episode.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Throughout production, review all aspects of animation and provide feedback in a timely manner to ensure revisions fit into production schedule.
  • Ensure animation standards for style are adhered to throughout entire process and duration of the show.
  • Participate in animatic reviews, board pitches and meetings. Gain understanding of the direction for each episode in early stages of development to ensure continuity through to final deliverables.
  • Direct and mentor all artists (including partner studios) on the animation style for the show.
  • Review designs and breakdown decisions to help direct from the front on new or reused assets (instead of noting issues once into production).
  • Have a good technical understanding of models and rigs.
  • Test character rigs.
  • Create pose libraries for episodic characters.
  • Work with partner studios to develop and implement assets.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of industry experience in TV Animation, film, broadcast, and/or games
  • TV animation experience strongly preferred
  • Solid technical expertise of models and rigs
  • Strong knowledge of Maya and Nuke
  • Solid technical expertise of models and rigs
  • Ability to work in high-pressure environment under tight deadlines
  • May require travel to partner studios
