Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the VFX Supervisor and the Supervising Producer to ensure that their creative vision is upheld by putting practices into place for a smooth pipeline and clean workflow.
- Review storyboard and animatics to ensure that the integrity of production model is maintained for CG final render and reliable compositing across all episodes.
- Ensure the visual style of the show stays in continuity across all episodes and is adhered to by the crew.
- Ensure that partner studio receives clear direction on the final look of each scene within each episode. Provide specific details on critical lighting requirements and note lighting callouts as needed in the tracking software.
- Provide clear directives to the partner studio during the compositing and lighting stage via evaluation of the episodic animation.
- Provide the appropriate level of detail needed to ensure that paintovers, notes and inconsistencies are addressed to maintain the highest quality levels from thepartner studio on final shots.
- Participate in board pitches, animatic reviews and other meetings during early stages of development to learn about the direction and needs required for each episode.
- Communicate storyboard issues and concerns regarding FX/Lighting/Comp prior to animation.
- For new and reused assets provide designs and ensure clear directives are given in early stages of production.
- Work with partner studio to create and implement assets.
Qualifications:
- May require travel to partner studios
- Node-based compositing experience required (preferably Nuke)
- Experience compositing render passes generated from V-Ray and Mental Ray
- Python scripting experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Linear Workflows
- Experience with asset management software
- Basic knowledge of editing software (Premiere Pro or Avid Express)
