Lead Modeler - Characters, TV
- Responsible for creating all models including characters, character blend shapes, and character UV unwraps.
- Ensure that character assets are of high quality, detailed and adaptable to various styles.
- Once crew members submit assets for approval, provide first round notes and approval.
- Generate overview notes for the designs that help to ensure that the requirements for the episode are met and help the artists to achieve the work delegated to them.
- Work with the Lead Modeler Sets, TV and Lead Char TD, TV to ensure that the work is managed according to the production schedule.
- Responsible for ensuring all deliverables are completed on time and according to production standards.
- Ensure clear modeling and rigging production standards for the partner studio are put into place for each character design. Provide thorough review of character models upon completion.
- Ensure that creative and technical Modeling standards are adhered to by partner studio within the confines of the production schedule.
- Provide recommendation and suggestions for designs and animatics while ensuring timelines are met.
- Develop assets for implementation by working closely with the partner studio.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of industry experience in film, broadcast, and/or games
- TV Animation Experience strongly preferred
- Advanced knowledge of hard surface characters and organic models.
- Intricate understanding of Mayas referencing system andability to organize complex hierarchies.
- Solid modeling and rigging skills.
- Prior experience leading a small team within production schedule confines.
- Creative problem solving skills and adaptability skills.
- May require travel to partner studios.
