Annual Toys for Tots Drive Starts this Thursday!

Dick Scott Automotive Group is Hosting our
5th Annual Toys for Tots Drive!
BEGINNING THIS THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 1ST - MONDAY, DECEMBER 10TH!
Our last four years have been a huge success and we have been able to donate TRUCK LOADS of Toys to kids in need! We are collecting NEW, UNWRAPPED toys!
(Please no stuffed animals as they can no longer be distributed because they can harbor germs.)
As our economy continues to change we are finding more and more families each year struggling to make ends meet not to mention all the added expenses the holiday's bring. This generous cause is making HUGE Differences in so many local families lives!!
Thank you to our many Community Members, Customers and Employee's who help make our Toys for Tots Drive such a success year after year!!
PLEASE NOTE: Toys for Tots is always in need of gifts for 9 to 12 year olds, both boys and girls. Craft or hobby kits, makeup kits, electronics and CD's, are always great choices!

Auto Tip of the Month

Check your Exhaust System -Your vehicle should be placed on a lift and the exhaust system examined for leaks. The trunk and floorboards should also be inspected for small holes. Exhaust fumes can be deadly.
This tip is especially important to remember with the upcoming winter month's. People spend more time commuting in their vehicles and the salt from the road can make any holes in the floorboards worse.

Remember, as a participant of our program, your organization will receive directions on how to print donation vouchers. Participants will, in turn, present them at any Dick Scott Dealership location when they purchase/lease a new or pre-owned car, truck or bike.
At the end of each month, your organization will receive
$100 for every voucher redeemed!

Dave Tims, Parts Advisor
Dave Tims is one of our Parts Advisors at Dick Scott Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Plymouth, MI. He has been with Dick Scott for 11 years and has been in the automotive industry for 21 years! One of his favorite aspects of his job is the people he works with each day. Dave graduated from Plymouth Canton High School and went on to attend Schoolcraft College and Michigan State University. He now lives in Plymouth, Michigan, with his wife and children and their family pets, Alfie, a Border collie and Mitchell and Senegal Parrot. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, especially watching F-1 racing early on Sunday mornings with his kids and dog all on the couch with him. Dave's favorites include: Food: a well prepared steak; Movie: Star Wars - Episode IV; Author: Tom Clancy or George RR Martin. Dave currently drives a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser, but he dreams of someday owning a 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst. | Recipe Of The Month |
 | | Sage, Onion and Smoked Bacon Stuffing |
Ingredients:
1 onion, finely chopped
3 strips smoked bacon, chopped
9 ounces cooked sausage meat (optional)
1 tbsp. olive oil
2 tbsp. butter
1 cup fresh white breadcrumbs
1 heaped tbsp. chopped fresh sage
1 medium egg, lightly beaten
a little fresh parsley, chopped
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Cook the onion and bacon in the oil in a saucepan on medium heat until the bacon is just beginning to brown.
2. Melt the butter, then add breadcrumbs and sage and season well. Stir in the beaten egg to bind the mixture together.
3. Place the stuffing in an ovenproof dish and bake in the oven at 350 degrees F for approximately 30 minutes, or until the stuffing is golden brown and firm to touch. Scatter the chopped fresh parsley over the stuffing just before serving it.
4. If you wish, you can also add nine ounces of cooked sausage meat when you add the breadcrumbs.

To be received by CHRISTMAS, Holiday cards and letters need to be dropped off by November 28th to allow for enough time to deliver them on time to our troops! This month we would like to thank Sam, Nia and Gabriel, sixth grade students from
Achieve Charter Academy in Canton, Michigan, for taking two hours on a Saturday
to go to the library and write 30 letters for us to send to A Million Thanks!
According to the students, they wanted to do something to
"encourage our committed military"
while they are away from their homes and families.
