 | Celia's! Got it? |
MARCH 1st USHERS IN A NEW DAWN...
for Lamorinda Sunrise Rotary Club in more ways than one. It will mark the first meeting at Celia's, our new Lafayette facility, for Friday morning meetings. If you go to Postino this Friday, you may not be alone, but you and any other "uninformed's" will definitely be in the wrong place. Celia's is located at 3666 Mt. Diablo Blvd, kitty-corner from Trader Joe's parking lot. You won't want to miss our inaugural meeting there or, for that matter, the scintillating Program on reviewing and effectiveness ratings of the Super Bowl advertisements.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
 |
Wise advice, counselor
|
Skip McCowan began the Postino denouement with the following from Winston Churchill; "We are masters of the things we don't say...and slaves to the thing we do." Not exactly "Loose Lips Sink Ships."
GUESTS
Visiting Rotarian Troy Fedderson from the noon club
Jo Alice Canterbury - Spokesperson for the Orinda Theatre
Eva Marie - Second time visitor from Lafayette photo shop

BIG TIME FILM FESTIVALS ON TAP
 | Thank you Jo Alice |
Ms. Canterbury was here to inform us that during the month of February an International Film Showcase began featuring the acclaimed Japanese film "Chronicle of my Mother." For more information on upcoming films and show times go to www.Ifef.org.
Also, from March Nine through the 17th, the 18th Annual East Bay International Jewish Film Festival will be screening 18 outstanding documentaries in addition to 22 impactful feature films. For show details, times and ticket orders, go to www.eastbayjewishfilm.org. This festival is strongly supported among several theatre venues throughout the East Bay and ticket sales are always brisk.

PREZ ROBERTS REMINDS LAST MEETING AT POSTINO (ARE YOU GETTING THE MESSAGE?)
A hardy crew moved all of the LSR belongings out of Postino on Sunday. Although Mark really wanted to roll the gigantic storage box down the middle of Mt. Diablo Blvd. to Celia's, cooler heads prevailed. No one was willing to go his bail if the Lafayette police were silly enough to lock him up for any number of reasons.

Welcome back, Troy

BANDS TO PUT ON ANNUAL FUND RAISER SHOW
Troy announced that on March 8th, Generations in Jazz and other ensembles from the East Bay will be playing mightily at an $85 per person fund raiser at the Lafayette Veteran's Memorial Center. This year's theme "We All Play Together." See Prez Mark for further details, or better yet, get them in person from him this Friday at the meeting (did we mention it will be at Celia's?)

TGITLFOTM TONIGHT?
Wait a minute...that was last Friday night. If you went please tell any of our erstwhile reporters what happened and we'll dutifully pick it up in one of our "other" publications. In any event, a hearty thanks to Tamara and Thomas Raeth, who we know did a bang-up job as hosts.
