A Note from Ann
Dear Neighbors,

Financial responsibility is very important to us at the County Board and Forest Preserve District.  We are proud of the AAA bond rating that both the County and Forest Preserve have.  One of the ways we work at this is by developing strategic plans.  Having these long range goals  is important for allocation of resources.  Our top 2 goals are to enhance economic opportunities and promote a sustainable environment.  You can get the details of our strategic plan.

Property owners will be receiving their "blue card" of assessment notices in the next few weeks.  I'll be sending email notices reminding you of the window for appeal of assessments.  in the mean time, you can learn more about property assessment process.

You can get more information in the Summer Newsletter.

As always, please contact me about these or other issues.  I'm happy to come and meet with you or your homeowner's association or scout, church or other group.

Sincerely,

Ann

Recycling Help
Recycle symbol  Recycling Tip:  Plastic Bags
Sometimes you can't avoid getting a plastic bag.  If you don't have another use for it--how should you recycle it?  The best way is to bring them to grocery stores or other locations that have specific bins. for film plastic recycling.  If you can't do that, you can put them in single source recycling, but be sure to fill one bag with as many as possible and tie them off.  This way they will not get caught in the cogs at the recycling center and halt operations.  Remember, the plastic newspaper bags, the plastic from dry cleaning are also recyclable.  Get the entire list of plastic recycling.

Be sure to check the SWALCO site for more information on what and where you can recycle.

The Lake County Drug Free Communities Program has a number of sites available for prescription drug drop-off.  Remember, DO NOT FLUSH DRUGS down the toilet or sink.  They contaminate the water supply.  Look for the blue drop box (looks like a mail box) in the lobby of
