Experience sights and sounds from around the world at the 14th annual Irvine Global Village Festival on Saturday, September 26, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Bill Barber Park in Irvine. Recognized as one of the best cultural festivals in Orange County, this daylong celebration features more than 100 musical, dance and demonstration performances; international cuisine; a Kids Village with crafts and activities; cultural and religious exhibits; and an international marketplace. Festival admission and parking are free. Food tasting tickets are available for purchase at the event, with prices ranging from $1 to $3. Public parking is not available at the event site. Free event parking and shuttles are available at the Jamboree and Main parking structure and at Mike Ward Community Park − Woodbridge. U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon  
The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon returns to Irvine October 8-11 and October 15-18 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Orange County Great Park. Families are invited to explore solar houses imagined, designed and built by college students from around the world plus keep the kids entertained with interactive children's activities including face painting, balloon artists, super inflatables, lawn games, carousel rides, crafts and more. The Children's Activities area is open both weekends, October 10-11 and October 17-18, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission to Solar Decathlon 2015 is free; parking is $10.
