The City of Irvine is hosting a free shredding event to help residents safely and securely dispose of sensitive documents. Bring any unwanted clothing items to donate to

What Types of Plastics Can Be Recycled?
Plastic Recycling Type 1 Plastics are identified using a numbering system of 1 through 7. Usually located on the bottom of the container, the number corresponds to a specific type of plastic. Most plastics are recyclable except for polystyrene meat trays, egg cartons and packaging peanuts. Examples of how the various plastic types are used in ordinary household products are shown below:
