The View from the Soul
In our Mystery School in the 1990s that I wrote about in 2012: Crossing the Bridge to the Future, my teacher Ellias Lonsdale used to warn us not to judge the meaning of any year until the month of Leo had come and gone, feeling that Leo holds the center of what a year is all about. We certainly could use a jolt of inner meaning during this outrageous summer of 2016 when, to quote ex-president Jimmy Carter, the United States no longer has a functioning democracy, and many of us are searching for a way through the madness. To meet the increased demands of our time our College of Visionaries & Wizards is ramping up our TeleClass offerings from September to June with more offerings than ever. E very few years we begin another round of Chart Study for students interested in learning how to read birth charts the magical way that I do, and this is the year. An introductory class t o prepare students for the 3-Year course will be co-taught by my lovely and irrepressible wife Marcella Eversole and stellar program graduate Alejandra Salvado, beginning in October.
Marcella and I are excited to launch our first Elder's Circle in September, for anyone over the age of 67 to explore the question Have you done what you came here to do?
As always, Marcella and I continue to offer private readings to help you cut through the cross currents of our time and get down to the core of who you are and why you're here.
Marcella, who is a graduate of our chart study program, is currently offering soul-level sessions at less than half the cost of mine, and is building up a roster of deeply satisfied clients. August 2016: Getting Down to a Deeper Truth

Throughout August the lack of Air and preponderance of Water that I wrote about last month (see July CWR) continues, and is joined by a strength of planets in Earth. The lack of planets in Air this month means that sharp perspective will continue to be elusive. And the increase of Earth into the Water churns up mud that many people are wallowing through, caught in murky currents of confusion, seeking clarity.
Through the mud we're hard-pressed to know how to feel, what to think and what to do in a world seemingly gone crazy. US politics has entered a phase so bizarre that it seems as if we've fallen into the pages of a strange graphic novel that just happens to be reality. This summer is challenging us like never before to see through distortion, illusion and lies, and gain clear insight as to what's really going on, which requires a depth of self-knowledge that is rare and hard to come by. Without getting down to who you are on a soul level it's difficult to sort the revolving door of kaleidoscopic images that blast us from all sides.

Clients I work with all over the world seem to be pinching themselves to awaken from this hallucinogenic mess that confounds high expectations of where our species should be by this point in history. It's ludicrous for many of us to note how human consciousness has fallen so far from the teachings of Rumi, Ghandi, Mother Theresa, Buddha and Christ into the slimy matter at the base of the gene pool here in this Summer of the Monkey, where strange creatures swim through the muck and scant light penetrates from the higher reaches. It takes a special courage in such time to persevere through the pressure, follow your heart, and set your sights on higher ground.
The Degree Frequencies of the outer planets Uranus and Pluto this month challenge us to find a way to proceed when the world we knew no longer exists. Uranus rules revolution. Pluto encapsulates the hell of our species, and the main hell of our species is that, no matter how hard we try, we can't seem to manifest the world of love and peace that we all know to be the rightful future of the human race. These days, in fact, it can seem like we're farther than ever from that lofty goal. Why is this so hard? Why is it taking millennia? How come we can't follow the golden teachings of the great mentors of the past, who saw these same dark challenges centuries ago and warned us not to wallow in the mud?
The reason this is taking so long is because the urge to outgrow our destructive tendencies lies side by side with the urge to be done with the whole sorry drama of history and wipe ourselves off the earth. Like a recalcitrant adolescent our species keeps acting out and acting out through the centuries, resisting higher truth and sabotaging our nobler instincts. At this point nothing less than a revolution will serve.

The single organism that is the human species is stumbling through revolutionary growing pains, struggling to free the part of us that knows better from the part addicted to misery. It's not hard to understand why certain factions of society are resorting to tactics of fear, bigotry and hatred, because when the world is poised on the brink of crucifixion and resurrection, equal suction grabs us from both sides. Pressure mounts each day, with ample evidence to see this as the end of the world as much as the beginning. (I offer solutions to this dilemma in my book Cosmic Weather Report.)
The only way through the mess is to wake up the heart and soul and conscience of the human race and realize what we're really made of. Each individual that wakes up to realize the amount of power he or she has to make things better banishes the toxic guilt and depression of our time, guilt at being a member of a lost and suicidal species addicted to war and greed, and depression from the age-old dilemma of what can one person do about it?
But if you see through the lies of the Left and the lies of the Right you'll awaken the same non-dualistic truth that Buddha and Christ and Ghandi strove to awaken in us -- the truth that we are all one and can pool our hearts and minds to break free of the prison of the mind. And truth was not one thing in their time and another in ours. Though technology has obscured our rich and vital connection to earth, spirit, and each other, there is still something worth believing in buried in the soul of the species, though you have to dig deeper than ever now to get down to it. Now that the government and media has become co-opted by corporate lies, you have to seek truth down in the soul, where it is rising this summer to call all bold visionaries to stand up to the madness and come out, come out, wherever you are.
