MLS PIN Board Votes to Remove ACT with a Flag Status
At a March 18th meeting, the Board of Directors approved a recommendation to do away with the Active with a Flag status. The implementation date is still to be determined, but should be a month or two away. Additional notice will be given before the change goes into effect. What this change means is that you will now be required to move a listing into the UAG status when you have a fully executed offer to purchase. However, we will still have the ACT with a Kick-out status (ACT ), available only for those listings with an offer that has a kick-out/right of first refusal contingency.
This change is being made to address the growing frustration of our customers who continually experience difficulties trying to show these listings, only to find out that the listings really aren't available. It seems a large number of brokers are using ACT with a Flag as a "staging status" between ACT and UAG on every listing. This unfortunately dilutes the Active inventory with properties that are simply not available. Watch for further updates on this matter in the upcoming weeks.
