Proverbs 24:3-4 is my favorite proverb. I like how it is translated in the World English Bible. It reads:

Instead of thinking about the furnishings of my house, this translation always makes me think of those with whom I live: my husband and our children ... these are the rare and beautiful treasures I take great delight in. The rooms of my home are filled with their laughter and love. Their energy and creativity and spontaneity and faithfulness are the treasures I value beyond comparison.

I have often said it is my intention to have this proverb stenciled in the entryway of our home. I have yet to make that happen, but the proverb remains for me the best description of home anywhere.

You know how they say that the benefits of exercise remain beyond the period you are actually working? I think the same must be true of dwelling in God's word. The benefits of daily reading overflow into the rest of the day. Our decisions are informed and shaped by the Word. Our relationships are transformed by the reading of the Word. Our hearts are changed by the Word of God. Our entire lives are made new. What a rich blessing. Carry on!
