More Psalms! Remember, this is the prayer book our Lord Jesus used. These are the prayers and songs he practiced, and prayed, and committed to memory. These are the words he called to mind in times of trouble, in times of celebration, at the dawning of a new day, and in the midst of the unthinkable. He repeated these words when he preached, when he taught, when he was challenged, and when he hung on the cross.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer says in his book Life Together: "The Psalter is the prayer book of Jesus Christ ... He prayed the Psalter and now it has become his prayer book for all time ... Those who pray the psalms are joining in with the prayer of Jesus Christ, their prayer reaches the ears of God. Christ has become their intercessor."
