The question of who's in charge is central in the readings before us. As God's people learned in the wilderness they have a God who will not let them alone; a God who insists on leading, guiding and directing his people; a God who continually provides for, protects and preserves; a God who is in charge. Yet, they wrestle with their role in the relationship. When it comes to power, they/we want the last word.

Thank goodness, our God forgives our trespasses. Even when we tread on his territory.
