Dear Friend of the Faith & Life Lectures,

In two weeks, on Thursday, March 12, the 2014-2015 Faith & Life Lecture Series is privileged to present author J. Warner Wallace.

Relying on over two decades of experience as a homicide detective, J. Warner Wallace began to examine the gospels from the perspective of a cold-case investigator. In his book, Cold-Case Christianity, Wallace provides his readers with tools they can use to investigate the claims of Christianity and make a convincing case for the truth of the Christian worldview.

Wallace's professional investigative work has received national recognition; his cases have been featured repeatedly on NBC's Dateline, and he has been awarded the Police and Fire Medal of Valor "Sustained Superiority" Award.

This talk, titled Faith & Evidence: Making a Case for the Reliability of the Gospels, begins at 7 p.m. at St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church in Plymouth, and is free and open to the public. I hope you'll be able to join us for this lively presentation, and look forward to seeing you on March 12.

Sincerely,

Tim Westermeyer

PJ. Warner Wallace was a conscientious and vocal atheist into early adulthood -- he always considered himself to be an "evidentialist." His experience in law enforcement only served to strengthen his conviction that truth is tied directly to evidence. At the age of 35, he decided to take a serious and expansive look at the evidence and determined that Christianity was demonstrably true.

After becoming a Christian in 1996, he continued to take an evidential approach to truth as he examined the Christian worldview. Wallace's book,
Cold-Case Christianity, provides readers with ten principles of cold-case investigation, and utilizes these principles to examine the reliability of the Gospel eyewitness accounts.

The Faith & Life Lecture Series is a community service of St. Philip the Deacon
Lutheran Church and Mount Olivet Lutheran Church of Plymouth.
