Reach Out. Proclaim. Inspire.Dec. 30, 2014
Dear Friend of St. Philip the Deacon:

As 2014 comes to a close, I write to thank you for all you have helped us accomplish at St. Philip the Deacon this past year.

Together, we have:
  • Made major improvements to our physical plant, renovating the West Welcome Area, Fellowship Hall and Kitchen;
  • Begun new ministries to better care for our sick and shut-in population;
  • Touched the lives of 6,700 individuals with gifts and food during Thanksgiving and Christmas;
  • Started new ministries for those grieving a loss from suicide,   and those finding their way again after divorce;
  • Refreshed and updated our Confirmation and Senior High ministries;
  • Underwritten trips for disadvantaged youth to go on life-changing trips to the Boundary Waters;
  • Centered our lives around regular worship services every weekend;
  • Introduced new regular prayer services, helping us create space for silence in our busy lives;
  • Helped our brothers and sisters in Colombia begin and expand businesses that break the chains of generational poverty;
  • Clothed and fed children in our own elementary schools who can't afford warm winter clothing or school lunches;
  • Taught our youth and children about God's love, and encouraged them to spread this love through regular service projects.

To everyone who has helped to make these and all of our other ministries possible through your prayers, your love and your support, I say--on behalf of all of those that St. Philip the Deacon serves--thank you.

As we say regularly, your gifts make a difference.

If you have not yet fulfilled your pledge for 2014, or have not yet had a chance to make an initial gift to our current Capital Appeal--Let Your Light Shine--I encourage you to do so before the end of the year. Questions about giving can be directed to Cheryl Sjaarda, our Finance Administrator, at csjaarda@spdlc.org or 763-475-7124.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership in the Gospel here at St. Philip the Deacon, and for helping us to continue to Reach Out, Proclaim, and Inspire as we end this year with gratitude and thanksgiving, and look to the coming year with hope and anticipation.

I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you,
because your faith is proclaimed throughout the world.
- Romans 1:8

God Bless,
