Dear Friend of St. Philip the Deacon,

Pastor Cheryl Mathison broke her ankle badly yesterday, and had surgery today to repair the damage. The surgery went well, and she is resting comfortably, but she won't be able to drive or put weight on the ankle for three months.

Pastor Mathison is working with us to communicate with people she has upcoming appointments with to alert them to this news. If you do have something scheduled with her in the next week or so, you should assume that it will have to be rescheduled -- she is very grateful for your understanding.

As Cheryl's husband, Mark, said: "She will welcome the prayers and the loving embrace of the St. Philip the Deacon community, which she loves, in the coming days and weeks."

Please do keep Pastor Mathison and her family in your prayers, and we'll be sure to keep you posted if there are other ways you can help in the weeks and months ahead.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, please direct them to the church office at 763-475-7100, or contact me or Pastor Strand Patterson at twestermeyer@spdlc.org or vstrand@spdlc.org

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Tim Westermeyer
