This Weekend - Holy Trinity Sunday

This weekend is Holy Trinity Sunday. The readings include 2 Corinthians 13:11-13 and Matthew 28:16-20.

Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.'

Recommended for Call - Rev. Mark Schmid

At the conclusion of all worship services on June 14, 15 and 16, we will hold special congregational meetings to ratify the unanimous recommendations of the Church Council and the Call Committee to extend a call to Pastor Mark Schmid to be St. Philip the Deacon's next Executive Pastor. Please join us for this important vote in the life of our congregation!
Summer Construction Begins - Volunteers Needed!

Volunteers needed! As a part of the Capitol Appeal, renovations begin next week in the Fellowship Hall, kitchen and west lobby. Following the conclusion of Vacation Bible School this Thursday, we need to pack up these areas and move items to storage. We need to have everything done by Monday, June 16. If you can help, come join us on Thursday, June 12 at 2 p.m. and Friday, June 13 at 10 a.m.

Thanks for your patience during this renovation, which promises to make our church facility more welcoming and hospitable to visitors and guests. For more about the appeal, see the story and links below. Thank you to everyone who is helping to make these improvements possible!

O Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

You have set your glory above the heavens.

Out of the mouths of babes and infants you have founded a bulwark because of your foes, to silence the enemy and the avenger.

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established;

what are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them?

Yet you have made them a little lower than God, and crowned them with glory and honor.

You have given them dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under their feet,

all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field,

the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

O Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

- Psalm 8
