Season's Greetings from
The CSA at Arrowhead
Hi Folks!

This past Share pick up week was missed by several of you---busy with the Holidays I imagine. And this coming weekend quite a few of you have told me you will be traveling. So we will be adding some extra hours to pick up your Share on this, the last week of the Late Season Share. The pick up area once again will be #3 Greenhouse, and if the footing is tough please feel free to drive right up to the greenhouse.

Marty and I will be on hand to greet you on Friday afternoon from 1 until 4:30. Regular pick up times will be on Saturday from 11 to 3, and on Monday from 10 until Noon.

Tahn and I will be at The Cape Ann Holiday Market tomorrow from 4:30 until 8. Hope to see some of you there.

On Saturday we will once again offer Apple Desserts and Hot Mulled Cider as a continuation of the Sponsor-A-Share Fund fundraiser. Please bring a bit of cash for donations if you haven't already done so. Thank you.

If you need a few extra vegetables for the Holidays please don't hesitate to ask---there are plenty of most crops available.

PLENTY OF EGGS

We need you to use extra eggs this week; you just are not keeping up with the hens! So I have asked Paula to make some interesting Egg Recipes available. But my favorites are still a big platter of Scrambled Eggs and almost-crisp Bacon, or a big platter of Deviled Eggs. I'd also suggest the Snow Pudding recipe with the Custard Sauce---a favorite from my Childhood. But at any rate, please, use those eggs and bring in your cartons. This weeks Egg price is $6 a dozen or two dozen for $9.

I never have seen Hens lay this well right through the shortest days of the year; but, wow, are they ever eating----going through a half ton or more of grain every week. And all that lovely Hen Manure to grow next Summer's Tomatoes By the way, we will be starting the earliest Tomato Seeds on January the seventh---just over two weeks away.
The Mid Winter Share starts on January 5th; time to sign up if you haven't yet. I'll talk with you later in the week.

Cheers,

Dick Chase
