What's your morning routine?
A cup of coffee? A glimpse at your email? Maybe a peek at
Good Morning America on TV?
But wait! You might have forgotten something. Are you sure you're fully dressed for the day?
According to the Apostle Paul, before we are truly ready to face each day we need to
"put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes." (Eph.6:11)
Sometimes it seems a little far-out to talk about the devil's schemes and the battle we fight in the spiritual realm. Maybe it sounds odd to you. But I find that all over the pages of Scripture, time and time again, it speaks about the battle we are engaged in as Christians.
Do you sometimes feel weak or easily defeated--unable to "fight the good fight" any longer? Well maybe you left the house half-naked. Maybe you forgot your armor.
There's a strategy in warfare, you know, and it requires being prepared--taking up the weapons of war and knowing how to use them. In my daily battles, not just in my ministry but also now in my fight for health, I know I need to be fully prepared to deflect the darts of the evil one as they come my way.
All of you have your own daily battles too. So I ask you, friends: Is there anything you'd like to add to your morning routine?
Come this Monday night and we will look at all six pieces of armor spoken about in Ephesians 6 and their function in everyday warfare. It should be a great, enlightening time!
See you there,
Greg
