DocuTrack Support Notice: 5.1.8 requirement

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 requirement coming for DocuTrack 5.1.8. There is no cost from Microsoft for this update.

(.NET Framework is a Microsoft programming platform designed to facilitate the development of applications on the Microsoft Windows operating systems. DocuTrack requires this platform to operate.)

Integra's Client Service Department is announcing in advance for your planning that DocuTrack version 5.1.8 will be adding a requirement for Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0 (aka.NET 4.0).  This version (5.1.8) is set to be released before the end of 2012.

The NET4.0 upgrade requirement is for all DocuTrack servers (application and SQL), and all client workstations. We highly encourage all customers to begin planning, and implement a .NET 4.0 rollout to all affected workstations prior to scheduling the 5.1.8 update with Integra. Here is a link to Microsoft's web installer for .NET 4.0, but please know Microsoft publishes several ways to install this update, including Windows Updates optional components, and a standalone downloadable full install that can be executed from a thumb drive or a network share.

Also, please be aware, you may need to apply Windows Update before and after a .NET 4.0 installation, depending on how often you update your workstations.

If your DocuTrack server was purchased through Integra, we will be installing .NET 4.0 on the server as part of your 5.1.8 update. Customer managed servers will need to be updated prior to scheduling DT 5.1.8 or coordinated with Integra support for installation at update time.

Please contact Integra Support if you have any questions.
