A big thank you to all of our readers this month. In April we saw the highest views for a single month that we have ever achieved. We missed the 20,000 visitors to the site by just 18 people!

Olmix holds successful seminar and product launch at Korean university
On 14 April, Professor Jean Noblet of Olmix Group gave a seminar at Konkuk University, Korea. It was attended by 80 nutritionists and academics from all the main Korean feed companies. Professor Noblet presented two sessions: 'Energy value of feeds for swine' and 'Precision nutrition of growing pigs and reproductive sows.'

Novus: Study compares the effect of two different methionine sources in commercial broiler diets
The Schothorst Feed Research Institute, an independent private research and consultancy institute for animal nutrition, recently performed a trial to determine the effects of graded inclusion levels of added methionine in broilers. Recent works indicate that DL-Hydroxy Analogue of Methionine (HMTBa) and DL-Methionine (DL-Met) have a dose dependent equivalency with different asymptote values. The study aimed to confirm this equivalency by assessing the two sources of methionine.- more here

 A new member of the teamProf. Dr. Hikmet Boyacioğlu is currently the Head of the Food Engineering Department at the Tuzla Campus of Okan University in Istanbul, Turkey. He has been a leading expert figure in the sectors of food science, agricultural science, cereal grains, soyabeans, oilseeds and more. He is now the International Editor for Milling and Grain magazine. On Monday 29 April, Darren and Tom from Milling and Grain and the IMD met with Hikmet.
