Major players in aquaculture production support the European Aquaculture Society
The European Aquaculture Society (EAS) recently announced the support of Marine Harvest and Kiliç Deniz as new premium sponsors. Major feed producer Skretting is the confirmed sponsor of the EAS Student Group. The sponsors will be involved in the sharing of information on sustainable aquaculture developments in Europe, organising conferences, trade events and workshops, the publication of a members' magazine, a peer-reviewed scientific journal and newsletters and the facilitation of online forums for EAS members.

International Aquafeed supports EMS Forum
First reported in Asia in 2009, Shrimp Early Mortality Syndrome has caused major production problems in the cultivation of shrimp in Asia.
In light of this, the Asian Aquaculture Network (AAN) is pleased to announce a platform established to address the problem of EMS. The EMS Forum: Managing the Shrimp Epidemic is an assembly with a focus on how to best manage the issues facing shrimp farmers in the Asian territories.

Aquaculture Europe 2014 call for abstracts
With a strong scientific programme that includes more than 20 parallel sessions, Aquaculture Europe will allow delegates to present initiatives that add value to aquaculture, covering the basic and applied science behind all aspects of aquaculture. In addition to the thematic sessions, Aquaculture Europe will include parallel and poster sessions. The EAS is now inviting abstract submissions for these sessions.

Farm tour announced at Aquaculture America 2014
Next month will see the return of one of the USA's major national Aquaculture meetings. This year, Aquaculture America 2014 will take place in the coastal seaport city of Seattle. A farm tour has also been organised on 13 February. This all day tour - which costs US$95 per person - will combine visits to Manchester Laboratory and Taylor Shellfish, departing at 8:00 AM from the Sheraton Seattle Hotel.
