We will be entering into the second quarter of year in just a few days. Despite many copies being shipped to VIV Asia 2013, we don't have enough of to meet demand. IMD has showed its presents in many important exhibitions this year, amongst those we include: IPPE 13, GEAPS 13 and VIV Asia 13.
Distribution in the second quarter of the year will be start with visitors to IDMA, Turkey. Do follow our blogs, twitter, LinkedIn and facebook reports. A word from the Directory Coordinator

The International Milling Directory has received a lot of attention recently. We made waves in Louisville at a most successful GEAPS event. Regular and new readers were drawn towards our freeely available copies of the IMD - the six boxes we shipped over were snapped up within the two days, leaving latecomers on the final day with not a lot of availability! VIV Asia took place in Bangkok in mid-March. A great honour at the opening reception was a mention for International Milling Directories' publisher Perendale, a boost for us all back in the office, especially when we learned that our publisher Roger Gilbert had been invited to chair more 'CropTech-FeedTech' meetings at future VIV events. The next event in this series will be the VIV show in Russia in May 2013. However, before that is the IDMA event in Turkey. This bi-annual event in Istanbul will take place over four days and we have decided to ship 10 boxes of the IMD for distribution to visitors. Our presence with a stand will be part of our marketing plan for IMD 13/14 to returning and new Turkish members. Tthey will be able to seek and receive information about participation in the new edition. On that topic, we are expecting to redesign and improve the functionality of the IMD this year, which makes it the leading publication as a must-have handbook within the international milling community. New companies in the IMD this month include: Kay International (India), Aciklar Un Sanayi (Turkey), Jiangsu Myande Food Machinery Co Ltd (China) and Dan Corn (Denmark). USDA deputy secretary resigns; Mexico and Canada join TPP; UK wheat updateAgriculture deputy secretary Kathleen Merrigan has announced her departure from the USDA. In a statement, Merrigan said, "It has been an ambitious first term. From implementing the 2008 farm bill, improving school meals, expanding opportunities for American farmers, spending countless hours in the White House situation room, to shepherding USDA budgets through challenging times, it has been an honor to play a small part in history."I hope that during my tenure, I was able to help open USDA's doors a little wider, inviting new and discouraged constituencies to participate in USDA programmes."
The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) has invited Mexico and Canada to join its trade negotiations.
Currently TPP includes nine countries: Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, United States, New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, Peru, Chile, and Vietnam.
The TPP negotiations encourage economic growth through trade among Pacific economies. The agreement will lead to employment growth as well as enhanced economic opportunity. It is estimated that every $1 billion in agricultural exports supports 9,000 jobs.
Cargill, which has existing investments in eight of the TPP countries, has welcomed the news. "Cargill has supported the inclusion of Mexico and Canada in the TPP from the start. We also support Japan's entry into the negotiations," said Greg Page, Cargill Chairman and CEO. "We have believed all along that in order for the agreement to be commercially meaningful, TPP must include other significant trading partners, and we are pleased with the decision on Mexico and Canada's entry."
UK production of wheat is forecast to fall to its lowest level in more than a decade, forcing imports of bread-quality grain, reports Reuters. England saw its wettest year on record on 2012, with high disease levels in arable crops and low wheat yields.

IDMA 13:
World milling sector being in the first place, all representatives of cereals and legumes sector are counting the days for IDMA, the most important international meeting point of the sector, which is held in Istanbul every other year.
