The Last Sisterhood: Where Have All the Sisters Gone?
Check out this video clip from Fox News in Wilmington. It features Sister Mary Isaac Koenig and Sister Rosemary McNamara. The article ends with a sentiment common to many of us in ministry, "Sister Rose is quick to point out that there's no job on Earth with better retirement benefits. 'Eternal life.... you can't beat that!' she laughed."

The Patroness of Our Diocese
8 of 10. The First Integrated School in NC Was Catholic

In May 1953, Bishop Waters ordered the racially separate churches and schools of Holy Redeemer Parish in Newton Grove to merge. Holy Redeemer School thus became the first integrated school in North Carolina. Neither the blacks nor the whites embraced the change, however; the school closed shortly afterwards due to low enrollment.

Gary Krupp at St. Stephen, Sanford
Member of Papal Household to Speak about Pius XII

St. Stephen is offering a wonderful opportunity to hear an amazing free presentation on Pope Pius XII, delivered by Gary Krupp, a member of the Papal Household. His presentation will be on Saturday, March 14th at 10:00 am at St. Stephen Church in Sanford.
Gary Krupp has devoted many years to revealing the truth about Pope Pius XII ( falsely alleged to be "Hitler's Pope"). He has documented evidence to prove that Pope Pius XII was actually working quietly behind the scenes to save countless Jewish lives. Those attending will receive a complimentary copy of Krupp's book entitled, "Pope Pius XII and World War II: The Documented Truth."
Mr. Krupp is also the co-founder of Pave the Way Foundation, the purpose of which is to "pave the way for peace by removing obstacles between religions and initiating gestures of good will." Knighted by Pope John Paul II, he is the only Jewish man in history to receive the honor. Additionally, Mr. Krupp was raised in rank by Pope Benedict XVI to the Order of St. Gregory. He is a member of the Papal household.
Registration for this event is not required.
