It's Back!
The RAM 6th Annual International PEEPS Art Competition

On Friday, March 27, within the pristine white walls of a contemporary art museum that overlooks Lake Michigan, the Racine Art Museum presents an untraditional exhibition showcasing fluffy, sugar-coated marshmallow PEEPSŪ. March 4 through 15, the RAM 6th Annual International PEEPS Art Competition will accept entries from artists of all ages to participate in the only museum competition of this kind in the world.

Increasing in size, the 2014 competition featured 130 entries showcasing the talents of over 157 artists. The show's popularity drew thousands of visitors to the museum during its three-week run, again setting daily spring attendance records along the way. Visitors discovered colorful creations such as In Peeps We Trust featuring a handcrafted metal bill, a pop culture favorite with Peepton Abbey: The Death of Matthew, and The Real Reason for Potholes, commemorating last year's polar vortex.

Again this year, all entries will be judged by an expert panel, based on creativity and best use or representation of PEEPSŪ. Entry is free, and open to all individuals, families, and organizations. Prizes are available in a variety of categories. In addition, one lucky artist will take home the coveted PEEPles Choice Award where the community votes for their favorite creation.

New in 2015: Artists living over 100 miles away, are invited to send RAM a standard postcard with a PEEPS image on the picture side, and the museum will display the entry. Postcards must be 3 1/2 inches high x 5 inches wide, and will not be returned. No entry form needed for postcard entries as they will not be labeled individually. Postcards may be mailed to: Racine Art Museum, Box 187, Racine, WI 53401-0187.

The 2015 PEEPS Show will open to the public on Friday, March 27, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Racine Art Museum will also host a preview reception for PEEPS Show artists and RAM members on Thursday, March 26, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, with award announcements at 6:00 pm. The media is invited to attend the preview to meet the PEEPS artists and uncover their creative inspiration.

All competition entries must be received at the Racine Art Museum, 441 Main Street, Racine, 53403 by 4:00 pm on Sunday, March 15. The RAM 6th Annual International PEEPS Exhibition is open March 27 through Sunday, April 12.
