Racine Art Museum's annual fundraising event has moved to the "enchanted gardens" of RAM's Wustum Museum of Fine Arts, 2519 Northwestern Avenue, Racine. On Saturday, August 9, 5:30 - 11:00 pm, the RAM Royal Affair celebrates a summer of exhibitions featuring fantasy, fairy tales, and storytelling at RAM and Wustum. Just announced, RAM is partnering with Project Runway artist Timothy Westbrook. Partygoers will be able to interact with fairytale characters brought to life by Westbrook's costumes. All of his whimsical creations are made out of repurposed materials. "My training seems to come from both Midas and Rumpelstiltskin. I spin what others see as trash and refuse into wearable gold," states Westbrook.
Guests of the RAM Royal Affair are invited to indulge in a bounty of mouthwatering fare and tasty libations. There will be live music by Racine Strings Quartet and Woody the Band. Attendees can make crowns and magic wands fit for a king or queen. Many other wonders will amaze guests throughout the evening, including a chance to be seated at the Royal Table for a Once Upon a Time experience, where they will enjoy a feast served by footmen, with wine and champagne pairings, whimsical wearables, and Royal Goblets for all.
A Wishing Well will offer chances to win priceless prizes and there will be 50/50 raffles. Outstanding items, experiences, and one-of-a-kind artwork will be available in the silent and live auctions, including a kayak, a week's stay in Hilton Head, a flight for two from Racine's Batten Field, a private Black Point Estate tour for six in Lake Geneva, a private tour and tea party for 15 at the Pabst Mansion during their annual holiday mansion décor, a special concert by the band Nineteen Thirteen (Victor DeLorenzo), tickets to Racine Theatre Guild, Skylight Music Theater, Comedy Sportz, Shedd Aquarium, and much more.
Tickets to RAM's Royal Affair are $75 per person and include entertainment, food, and drinks at the open bar. Guests may come in casual garden attire or costumes. Those arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 pm have a chance to win a $100 voucher to be used on items available during the event.
