Racine Art Museum is delighted to host a free live concert by the band Nineteen Thirteen, which includes Racine native Victor DeLorenzo, founding member of the
Violent Femmes. This special event takes place during Gallery Nights in Downtown Racine on Saturday, November 16 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.
In celebration of RAM's 10th anniversary, Racine Art Museum is dedicating 2013 to acknowledging the importance of the local community in building, maintaining, and growing an institution.
DeLorenzo's offer to play a benefit concert at RAM embraces the museum's investment in the community where local residents have come to view the institution
as an anchor destination in downtown Racine.
During biannual Gallery Nights in Downtown Racine, the museum invites hundreds of people to experience world-class exhibitions, and enjoy the art-focused festivities
taking place throughout the area, in shops, galleries, and restaurants. Nineteen Thirteen's chamber rock will resonate beautifully within RAM's award-winning modern
architecture, drawing visitors in to experience music complementary to the contemporary paintings, prints, and drawings of Wisconsin artist John Wilde.
Nineteen Thirteen is a unique chamber rock trio from Milwaukee. Janet Schiff plays the lead instrument - a 1913 Cello with some technological updates - flanked by
DeLorenzo on percussion to one side and Scott Johnson on a more conventional drum kit on the other. Cello and Drums dance together to create a modern sound that will delight and thrill audiences that hunger for something completely different in the musical realm.
Pre-Concert Special Event
Starting at 6:00 pm, concert-goers have the opportunity to meet Victor DeLorenzo along with band members Schiff and Johnson for a pre-concert experience. For $25 per person, attendees are invited to enjoy light appetizers in the company of Nineteen Thirteen. Wine and beer will also be served. Tickets are available online at
