Monthly Luncheon: Tuesday, April 19
AT GARDEN OF THE GODS Club & Resort  - on April 19 - the SCWCC Monthly Business Luncheon welcomes Margaret Sabin, President and CEO of Penrose-St. Francis Health Services, who will share her thoughts on "Finding and Nurturing Your Passion."

With the busy lives we all lead, it can be hard to make the choices that lead to better health. Finding time to exercise, making the effort to prepare a healthy meal, or getting enough sleep can all be a challenge. The key to making those healthy choices is knowing your "why." The only way anyone will be successful in maintaining a healthy lifestyle is to have a reason - something that really means a lot - to motivate them from within.

Margaret will discuss "finding your why" and then provide insight in how to maintain your body, mind and spirit in a way that you can nurture your passion and continue to do all of the things you love and that add meaning to your life. She will also briefly discuss her vision for healthcare in our community and take a few questions.

Shawna Rodgers is the Director of the Office of Professional & Executive Development in the UCCS College of Business, and currently volunteers on the SCWCC Programs Committee. She recently shared details about upcoming OPED course offerings that provide high-level, non-degree programs led by a mix of UCCS College of Business faculty and industry experts. Julie Miller Davis was recently selected as the new Managing Director for the local branch of the eWomen Network. The chapter enjoys a considerable cross-over in membership with SCWCC, and several women, including Julie, maintain spots on both group rosters.

The SCWCC Foundation has started the 2016 fundraising cycle with its Colorado Springs 'Staycation' Raffle. Funds raised by the Foundation support a scholarship for a non-traditional female student at UCCS through the Karen Possehl Women's Endowment Program.

This year's winning package includes prizes from the Garden of the Gods Club and Resort, Springs Orleans, Sonterra, City Rock, Discovery Center, and Kimball's Theater. Tickets (1 for $10 or 3 for $20) can be purchased in person at Women's Chamber events or online at www.facebook.com/SCWCCFoundation.

All online sales are processed through Paypal and the winner will be drawn at 9:00 am on May 6 at the SCWCC First Friday Coffee hosted by The Inn at Garden Plaza. Contact any Foundation Board member for more details, or to purchase your tickets in person!
