From the Bishop
Let's Celebrate the Resurrection Every Day
"He is not here: for he is risen, as he said..." (Matthew 28:6a). If you are a believer this one statement of truth makes it possible to live your life to its absolute fullest in every area, every day! Because Jesus LIVES we are able to overcome any obstacle that stands in the way of us fulfilling the destiny that He secured for us over 2000 years ago. This is why we celebrate Resurrection in such a big way every year. Not only do we seek to tell the story but also to commemorate and celebrate the single most life-changing event in human history. The Resurrection impacts everyone all over the world to include the living, the dead and even those yet to be born. It impacts believers and non-believers alike, those who accept Jesus Christ and those who reject Jesus Christ. For whether you accept him or reject Him your decision will impact you in both this life and the life to come in ways that no other decision will.
For those of us who have accepted Jesus, it is indeed a time for us to stop and take full stock of all that His death, burial and resurrection mean to us as believers. Unfortunately, many people miss the true significance of what Christ's Resurrection means and views it instead as a time to buy new clothes, cook a big dinner to include the Easter ham and to make that rare appearance in church on Resurrection Sunday morning. None of these activities in and of themselves are wrong just extremely limited in truly grasping all the Resurrection means in the life of a believer. So while it's good to celebrate in a big way once every year, it is equally important to celebrate the Resurrection every day. We do this by walking by faith and living our lives to its maximum potential, "Claiming Our Territory" and possessing ALL that Christ intends for us to have.
Does your life reflect a celebration of the Resurrection every day? If not, then remove all doubt, limitations and boundaries and know for certain that because Jesus lives ALL things are possible to them that believe. If you have not made that all-important decision for Christ, I implore you today, make that all important choice for Jesus.
Finally, make sure you invite someone to church on Resurrection. It can be your neighbor, co-worker, even a stranger, family member or friend. We have planned a grand celebration because Jesus is worthy. He is the lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world for our sins and we rejoice because He has RISEN and IS ALIVE FOREVERMORE!
"CLAIMING OUR TERRITORY!"
