Bishop Eugene Reeves Speaks With the Voice and Wisdom of A Seasoned Life Coach

"Even the best relationships can be tricky. Some people seem to suck the life out of us when we aren't looking, while others leave lasting impressions of rejection or loss. We yearn to be released from the stings of past or present relationships. I want you to break free from the the stigma of believing what people tell you about your worth. You can experience a better future when God gives you a picture of your value in His eyes!"  - Bishop E.V. Reeves

A Closer Walk With Christ

As we enter the season of Lent, the 40 day period leading up to The Resurrection, we enter a time of repentance, reflection and renewal centered around our personal relationship with Christ. The strength of our relationship with Him is a key factor in our ability to have strong, healthy relationships with others. In fact, living the life that God intended us to live is wholly dependent on our relationship with Christ, for only in Him do we have life and the promise of life more abundantly. Therefore, it is extremely important that we take the time to cherish and nurture our relationship with Christ.

We do this first by being open and honest with Him at all times. There is no need to try to hide anything for He knows everything about us and even so, loves us still. With this kind of security and assurance we can repent and confess all of our faults and sins before Him because He is the only one who can cleanse us from all unrighteousness, and give us a new heart and the right spirit. Another thing that we must do for our relationship with Christ to grow is reflect on who He is and all that He has done and what we are trusting and believing He will do according to His word. We do this by meditating daily on His word, studying and considering all of His precious promises. Maybe you have not been reading the Bible like you know you should, then just start today and continue tomorrow and the day after. Ask God to reveal more about Himself to you and more about His plan for your life through His word.

Finally, find time in worship to renew your strength, your resolve and your commitment to Christ. Living in this world can be difficult as we are bombarded with the cares of life and the difficulties and hardships that they bring. Sometimes we even find ourselves getting a little weary. But regular time in the presence of God will give us the strength and joy we need for the journey, for in His presence is fullness of joy and the joy of The Lord is our strength! So, during this season of Lent, let's focus on our relationship with Christ. I encourage you to do a personal fast of your own choosing between you and God. The purpose is to show God you are serious about your relationship with Him. To know Him is to love Him. Over the next 40 days, let's make it a priority to walk closer to Christ than we ever have before.

EVANGELISM

A CALL TO EVANGELIZE

by Minister Sonia Mayo

Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. - Matthew 9:37-38

"A Call to Evangelize", is a call to every believer.  Some might feel like evangelizing isn't for them or feel that it's not an area that they are called to.  But Evangelism is what God has called us all to do. "

In Matthew 28:19, Jesus commands his disciples to "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and since we are disciples...followers and believers of Jesus Christ.. then that same commission has been given to us all as children of God.  But most importantly, the love of God that was poured out upon us, even when we where lost, should be a reason why we should want to share that same love about Jesus Christ to others.  We should love them as we have been loved, which at the very least means sharing the gospel with them.

Our ultimate motivation in evangelism must be to see God glorified, and God is glorified when the truth about him is known and shared with others. So our desire should be to glorify God by sharing the gospel, the very truth about him  as often as we can. This doesn't mean everyone has to go and knock on someone's door, hand them a track or even put a flyer about Jesus on a car, but your very lifestyle can be a light and a witness to those around you.

God can use each and every one of us to share the gospel wherever we are.  Your very testimony of how Jesus came into your life and changed you is enough to turn a sinner around.  They might think, well, if Jesus can change them, then I know I can be changed.  So share your testimony!

God is just looking for willing vessels ready to be used by him.  The exciting part of it is that he has given us a precious gift, the Holy Spirit that will lead and guide us into all truth.  The Holy Spirit will give us all the boldness we need to evangelize, so we don't have to be fearful, but we can have assurance that we can depend on the Holy Spirit to give us what to say at the appointed time.  It's time to trust the Holy Spirit like never before, because there is a greater work for us to do.  It's Time to Evangelize!!  It's time to Win Souls for the Kingdom.

Your Spiritual Life

The Season of Lent

Over 2000 years ago, Jesus Christ sacrificed his life for us! What an awesome, unprecedented sacrifice! As we begin to celebrate the sacrifice that Jesus made for us, let us honor him with pure hearts and clean hands. It is important to recognize that all of our good works do not qualify us for his love. It is simply because of Jesus' blood that we have an opportunity for life more abundantly. Let us commit ourselves to repentance, reflection, and renewal as a demonstration of our love and thanksgiving for Jesus' life giving sacrifice.

As we enter the season of lent on March 5th Psalms 51 will be our key scripture as we seek God for:

1.     Mercy and forgiveness for our sin (Psalms 51:1-2)

2.     Courage to accept and admit our transgressions (Psalms 51:3-6)

3.     Purification from all residue of ungodliness (Psalms 51:7-11)

4.     Restoration (Psalms 51:12-13)

5.     Freedom to share our story (Psalms 51:14-17)

6.     Favor (Psalms 51:18)

7.     Worship that is pleasing to God  (Psalms 51:19)

Please join us as we repent, reflect on our ways, and experience renewal from our Father!

"Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me." Psalms 51:10
