EMV chip cards coming soon!

EMV-enabled cards (named for developers Europay,Mastercard and Visa) are debit and credit cards that are embedded with a mocroprocessor chip. These cards (also known as chip cards) have been widely used in Europe and Asia for years and are being adopted in the U.S.

For payments that require the use of a physical card, chip cards provide improved security and enhanced fraud protection over the current magnetic-stripe technologiy widely accepted in the United States.

In the coming weeks, NGFCU members shall receive a new debit card with the embedded chip.
